Dutch Baby (German Pancake)

A Dutch Baby is basically a cross between a pancake and a popover. It is puffy baked pancake that is quick, easy, and delicious. Top with any of our fruit jams or dessert sauces for a weekend breakfast treat.
Ingredients
- 4 eggs plus 1 egg yolk
- ¾ cup Flour
- ¾ cup milk
- 1 ½ tbsp Sugar
- 1/8 tsp nutmeg
- 3 tbsp Sutter Buttes Butter or Vanilla Olive Oil
- 1/3 cup Sutter Buttes Strawberry Vanilla, Peach Bourbon, Warm Spiced Apple or Blackberry-Raspberry Cardamom Jam
- Powdered Sugar
Directions
- Place a 10” cast iron or other oven safe skillet in oven and pre-heat to 400 degrees F.
- Whisk together Eggs, Flour, Milk, Sugar and nutmeg until smooth.
- Pour Oil into heated skillet, swirl to coat.
- Add batter and return pan to oven.
- Bake pancake for 20 – 25 minutes until puffed and golden.
- Spoon Jam onto pancake and dust with powdered sugar.
- Cut into wedges and enjoy!
