Roasted Chipotle Macaroni and Cheese

Know what we love for a quick weeknight dinner? Macaroni and cheese! This Roasted Chipotle Mac & Cheese is not your average meal! It’s loaded with flavor with two different types of cheese  and our Roasted Garlic Chipotle Salsa for the most delicious dinner!


2 tbsp butter

¼ cup flour

2 cups milk

1 cup Sutter Buttes Roasted Garlic Chipotle Salsa

1.5 cup cheddar cheese

1.5 cup pepper jack cheese

1 tsp pepper

1 tsp Himalayan Sea Salt

1 tbsp chopped jalapeno

1 lb elbow pasta

½ cup panko bread crumbs


In a large pot bring salted water to a boil. Cook pasta until al dente (Usually around 8 minutes depending on brand you use). 

Preheat oven to 400.

While pasta is cooking, in a saucepan, melt butter. Whisk in flour until smooth. The mixture will get slightly brown – this is ok. Stir in the milk and continue to whisk until milk comes to a boil and is completely smooth. When milk comes to a boil, remove from heat. Mix in Garlic Chipotle Salsa, cheese, Sea Salt, pepper and jalapeno into milk mixture, stirring until combined and cheese is melted. Drain the pasta and add to the cheese sauce, stirring to cover completely.

Pour pasta mixture in a greased 9×13 baking dish. Sprinkle bread crumbs on top. Bake at 400 for 20 minutes until top is golden brown.
